How to make a Cutout Text

We’ll be making a Cutout Text using Layer Style -> Blending Options.

Here is the source image file.

Rocktexture.jpg - From the second tutorial

 1. Open Rocktexture.jpg.

  2. Use Horizontal Type Tool (or Press ‘T’) and type ‘TEXT’.

  4. Right Click the ‘Text’ Layer, and Select Blending Options.

5. Click Inner Shadow option, and use the following settings.

  6. Select Inner Glow option, and use the following settings.

  7. Select Bevel and Emboss option, and use the following settings.

  8. Click OK to finish.

  9. Go to the Layer Window, and Select Difference.

It’s done. Now we have a nice Cutout Text.

Experiment with Layer Window’s other options to see different effects.

Good luck.
